Graduated Compression Sock Manufacturer, PRO Compression, Comments on…

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) February 01, 2013

On February 1, 2013, graduated compression sock company, PRO Compression, comments on the results of research studies that have examined the effectiveness of compression garments for athletic performance and recovery.

A recent article in The Washington Post discusses the body of research that has been conducted on the effectiveness of athletic compression gear. Compression garments – socks, hose, sleeves, even bodysuits – are clothes that compress the limbs, and have been used to treat various venous disorders such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), to improve poor circulation, as well as to reduce injuries and boost performance for athletes. The increased arterial pressure caused by the garments creates increase in blood flow to the heart.

In recent years, the use of compression attire has become something of a fad in the sports world. “It seems that you can’t head to a gym or run down your favorite trail these days without finding someone wearing compression garments,” says the article. “Weekend warriors and elite athletes alike are squeezing themselves into knee-high socks, tights and even full bodysuits that promise to improve performance and speed recovery from hard workouts.”

The research has been largely positive, according to the article. Although early studies using runners and jumpers were unable to verify a definitive boost in performance, a 2012 Canadian study found that “compression socks improved blood flow to calves,” according to the article, and that the socks had the potential to enhance performance, particularly for sports that require “repeated short bouts of exercise.”

The article notes that the results have been even more conclusive regarding the use of compression garments for sports recoveries. In an Australian study, rugby players wore compression tights during “active recovery” treadmill runs. Researchers found that the tights helped remove lactate (the compound that makes muscles burn during exercise). The article also describes a study at the University of Connecticut that put men and women in full-body compression suits. The participants went through an intense weightlifting session, after which researchers found that the compression suits helped to “reduce fatigue, swelling, muscle soreness and other side effects of exercise.” The article recommends compression clothing as a recovery aid for athletes and people who spend a lot of time on their feet – a soothing replacement to the tried-and-true ice bath.

PRO Compression responds to the article, saying that the benefits of compression technology have been known to science for some time; they have been a windfall to the medical industry in helping post-op patients recover more quickly, for example. And while compression clothes have become a mainstay for endurance athletes, who use them to train harder and recover faster, their thermoregulatory benefits (including the ability to increase circulation) make them a potential tool for thousands of others, including other types of athletes. They add, however, that different kinds of compression garments target different performance goals; it’s important to choose the right one for your purposes.

At PRO Compression we’ve created high-quality, graduated compressions socks tailor-made for the weekend runner and elite athlete. Unlike countless gimmicks that claim to improve your performance, with PRO Compression socks, the instant, positive improvement isn’t an empty promise – it’s purely scientific.

Capital Projects Software, LLC (CapProSoft®) Announces New…

Hawthorne, NY (PRWEB) February 01, 2013

The new Version 2 of cloud-based “CPPRT®” features major enhancements in the form of a brand new user interface and more intuitive navigation enabling faster and more streamlined data entry. In turn, this allows a more efficient and timely capital projects reporting method for auto completing the required SA 139, FPFI and Final Cost Report on schedule, a prerequisite for receiving building aid funding. Currently, CapProSoft® is the only provider of its kind offering software support for NYS building aid management.

When used consistently to capture project information in real time, the software solves the age old problem of lost or incomplete information causing late or unfiled NYSED financial reports. The possibility of a school district forfeiting valuable building aid funds is virtually eliminated.

These powerful enhancements, in addition to the 40+ tracking reports, also facilitate more extensive utilization of the software as an up to the minute audit tool to compare project expenditures with existing district-wide internal financial and budget management procedures. The software is a BOCES CoSer, and district data is maintained on secure BOCES servers.

“Districts are in the business of education; managing capital projects within that framework is a small, yet pivotal part of their responsibility. My partners and I have managed many sizeable district projects over the years; we have applied this wide-range experience to create a foolproof, time-saving method of capturing pertinent data and funneling it into the required SED reports. School administrators can have immediate fingertip access to their capital project(s) progress like never before,” said J. Michael Orifici, CEO of the company.

Staff training and initial software set up consultations are available to assist districts with the on-boarding process. Data entry services, report preparation and SED filing assistance can also be arranged with technical staff at any point in the capital projects timeline.

About CapProSoft®: Capital Projects Software, LLC (also known as CapProSoft®) offers two patented, cloud-based software programs (BOCES service) specifically designed for NYS school districts to plan, track, manage expenditures & automatically complete required SED reports for their multi-year capital projects and on-going facilities and building management. proXPN Announces 100% Increase in New York City VPN Data Center…

IJmuiden, North Holland (PRWEB) February 01, 2013

Leading freemium VPN service provider proXPN has just announced a 100% increase in the available bandwidth at its popular New York VPN data center.

Demand has grown substantially in the past 3 months for secure VPN connections to New York City, primarily from proXPN’s rapidly expanding base of Canadian VPN users. Canadian proXPN users typically prefer connecting to the New York City data center because of its close proximity to Canada as well as receiving a USA IP address once connected.

“I rely on an American IP for a lot of the sites I visit,” stated Mr. Kurt Berrington, a long time proXPN user. “I’ve tried the other servers in the US but New York consistently gives me the best speed.” Many Canadians rely on attaining an American IP address in order to access content they ordinarily wouldn’t be able to reach.

The way proXPN’s servers work is to provide the user with an IP address in the same region as the datacenter. In the case of the proXPN New York City data center, whether a user is physically located in Canada, Germany, Tibet, or anywhere else the websites they visit will always see them as being located in New York City.

Due to the substantial increase in demand for VPN connections to New York City, proXPN has doubled the bandwidth capacity of its data center. Users will be able to enjoy more responsive web browsing, faster file transfers, and less buffering while watching streaming video.

Plans have already been announced for another upgrade in the available bandwidth at proXPN’s New York City data center in early Q2 2013.

About proXPN:

Founded in 2009, proXPN is a leading VPN provider that stands out from other services by offering free accounts. Stepping away from the SaaS standard practice of time-based free trials, a proXPN free VPN account lasts for life and is limited only in the connection speed. proXPN Premium account users enjoy unlimited connection speeds as well as advanced features such as PPTP compatibility for mobile devices and VPN Guard™, proXPN’s method of cutting all data transfer should the VPN connection fail, thus ensuring all data is encrypted during transmission even if there’s a system error. proXPN’s firm stance on the importance of individual privacy and security online has echoed the growing public sentiment in 2012 during debates over SOPA and PIPA.

Fynanz Ventures into the Lending Cloud, Rebrands as LendKey

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 01, 2013

Fynanz, the private student lending solutions provider that has enabled over 230 credit unions to enter the private student loan and private student loan consolidation markets, is rebranding to LendKey; a cloud-based lending platform that offers the essential infrastructure for lending organizations to quickly, securely, efficiently, and profitably lend to anyone.

According to LendKey CEO and Founder Vince Passione, LendKey’s innovative and flexible cloud-based technology solutions empower lenders to safely and quickly access lending markets for multiple asset classes. The rebranding will transition the company from its original identity as Fynanz, a student loan technology provider, to LendKey, an industry leader in cloud-based lending technology.

LendKey’s cloud-based lending technology platform empowers any lender to offer high quality, secure, responsible loans. It allows anyone to set up a full-scale, fully compliant lending operation within weeks, as well as tap into a community of like-minded lenders. Its range of products enables every component of a loan, which includes:

  •     Credit Decisioning (determining whether someone is a good risk)
  •     Origination (gathering key borrower information)
  •     Participation (sharing and trading loans to spread risk)
  •     Servicing (collecting payments)
  •     Demand Generation (marketing and portfolio growth)

“A cloud-based lending platform like LendKey can enable lenders to reduce their capital and operational expenditures as they continue to lend and expand into other lending products,” says Passione.

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 01, 2013

Topping off 2012, cloud-based lending solutions provider LendKey (formerly Fynanz) signed seven new credit union clients in December 2012 bringing its client total to 232. This latest flurry of activity signifies that more credit unions are looking to new asset classes to enhance their current loan portfolios. As a result, these new credit union clients will leverage LendKey’s cloud-based lending solution to develop, launch and support their own self-branded private student loan programs, or leverage the CUSO managed cuStudentLoans participation network.

LendKey’s December 2012 signings include:

  •     United Educators Credit Union (Apple Valley, MN)
  •     Security Credit Union (Flint, MI)
  •     Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union (Buffalo, NY)
  •     Santa Cruz Community Credit Union (Santa Cruz, CA)
  •     Hawaii Federal Credit Union (Honolulu, HI)
  •     Weber State Federal Credit Union (Ogden, UT)
  •     United Educational Credit Union (Battle Creek, MI)

“Partnering with LendKey gives us another option to expand our lending portfolio through student loans,” says Patricia Edinger, CEO of Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union. “We’re always looking for new ways to help our members with their lending needs and LendKey certainly provides us with the means to meet these goals for them.”

“We look forward to working closely with LendKey to bring new lending opportunities to our members,” says Vickie van der Have, CEO of Weber State Federal Credit Union. “We feel their technology and expertise in student loans will help us achieve our lending goals in 2013 and beyond, which allows for increased growth. Ultimately, that growth equates to greater value in our members’ eyes. That’s great news for our bottom line and our members’ academic futures.”

“It’s very positive to end the year on a high note like we did this past December,” said Jim Merrill, SVP of Sales for LendKey. “2012 was an extremely busy and successful year of serving the private student lending needs of credit unions and debunking many of the myths associated with the private student lending industry. We also endured a major repositioning and rebranding effort that I think will bring more value to our company in 2013 and in the ensuing years. It also bodes well for our clients, providing them with a cloud-based lending engine that will surely enhance their portfolios well into the future.”
